Overview

We aim to ensure biosafety compliance in the development, production, use, application, movement and release of biotechnology products in Zimbabwe. Our main purpose is to protect human health and biodiversity by enforcing adherence to biotechnology and biosafety regulations and guidelines; overseeing the responsible application of biotechnology in all fields including agriculture, medical, environment and industry.

Our Services

• 1. Facility Registration: Registration of facilities involved in the development, production, use, or application of biotechnology.
• 2. Product Registration: Registration of biotechnology products, e.g. bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, bio-stimulants, medical biologics.
• 3. GMO Certification: Provision of GMO screening services, issuance of GMO Certificates and GMO declarations.
• 4. Permit Issuance: Issuing of permits for import, export and transit of food, feed, food and feed additives and seed, as well as products containing biologically active material.
• 5. Monitoring and Surveillance: Inspections and compliance checks at all ports of entry and inland.
